Work ethic may sound like a simple, generic, canned answer to this question, but it is the reason that I am a productive member of the elite TalentScout team. I was born to a father whose father worked on the line in the same factory for over 30 years. My grandfather passed down to my father the work ethic that was instilled in me back when I started mowing lawns in my neighborhood as a kid. This desire to be successful and the feeling that I got by satisfying my customers has not changed. I have taken this work ethic to the business world and ran with it.
My job as an IT Recruiter is ultimately to find talented candidates that satisfy elite TalentScout’s clientele. I have had a few years of experience learning the business world, learning tricks of the trade, and building a network of talented IT candidates in the Milwaukee area. These three things coupled with my work ethic make me “elite” in what I do.
In 2010, I graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Mathematics Education. I then went on to teach for a few years in the state of Indiana. During that time, I taught a combination of 6th and 7th grade Mathematics, along with 1 semester of College Algebra at a local University. Teaching was hard work and there is no doubt that it helped train me for the mental toughness that is recruiting.
I started my recruiting career with a local agency and focused my training on direct hire IT staffing. As I began to learn the intricacies behind staff augmentation and direct hire staffing, I was happy to have been chosen in the field of direct hire. My first day of recruiting was in January, 2013, and I have been staffing for permanent positions every day since. For a 6 month period of time, I staffed for Engineering professionals, but by and large, my skills and network lie in the IT arena.
My personal achievements lie in sharing knowledge with others. I have educated and impacted the lives of thousands of students, as well as personally grown from what those students have taught me.
The same goes with my network of recruiters all across the U.S. I have learned a lot from those individuals that I have met in the industry. Recently, I have had the opportunity to start giving back to those recruiters with less tenure than myself. I consider it a personal accomplishment to be able to share my knowledge with others to help them grow professionally as others have helped me in the past.
Hunting and the outdoors is a passion of mine. Every chance I get, I introduce friends and kids to the sport of hunting. Over the past 10 years, I have been fortunate enough to have guided 4 new hunters on their first successful Turkey hunts.
Since my time in Milwaukee, I have donated to more than 6 charities in the Greater Milwaukee Area. The last one on my list was the Miller Park 10K/Mini Marathon on September 26, 2015 where all proceeds went to the MACC Fund.
I am the youngest of three boys… so if you can’t find me in the woods or on the Black River on the weekend, you might find me: traveling, at a wedding, with the family, at a Brewer’s game, watching a Packers or Colts game, running, lifting, in a game of Texas hold ’em, etc.
