I like to think that I bring a unique perspective to the world of VMS recruiting. As a millennial with a background in sales and marketing and an MBA, I have spent a significant amount of time trying to understand how people think and how things grow. Like any good salesperson, I am a firm believer in the value of people and relationships, and I place an emphasis on developing strong relationships with our business partners that foster the success of all involved. I am motivated by the fact that the work that we in this industry do has the profound ability to impact the lives of others every single day. I find it exciting that a successful placement might mean that an individual gets to move into a position that allows him or her to see his or her kids grow up. And in other more extreme cases, the work that we do may be the difference between whether or not a family is able to put food on their table. It is the ability to have that kind of impact that drives me to go the extra mile. As someone who spends a lot of time working with some of Milwaukee’s most poor and vulnerable, this job leaves me feeling like what I do really matters and that I am a part of something much bigger than myself.
I graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin’s Business Scholar’s program in 2016, earning my Bachelor’s in Marketing and a MBA with concentrations in Management and International Business. I also had the unique opportunity to earn a Master’s of Science in Global Sales and Marketing as a dual degree with Concordia University Wisconsin and the University of Applied Science – Upper Austria, which will be completed by the end of 2016. My education provided me with incredible opportunities to study sales and marketing internationally on several occasions. The majority of my professional background was in B2B sales, with a brief time in B2B marketing, before joining the eliteHCG team as the VMS Program Manager.
I received several awards and scholarships in my time at Concordia University Wisconsin. I am probably the most proud of the fact that I am a graduate of their Business Scholar’s program, earning my Bachelors, MBA, and a Master’s of Science from a foreign university all within four years.
I believe that no blessing in life is for us alone, so I do my best to stay active in pursuing ways to participate in things that bring hope and life to the community I live in. I was raised spending most of my Saturdays working with the homeless and volunteering in a food pantry on Milwaukee’s south side that I’ve seen grow from the back of a pickup truck to an operation that feeds more than 20,000 people per year. I also had the unique opportunity to be one of the founding volunteers of StreetLife Communities, a homeless outreach non-profit based in Milwaukee. Outside of volunteering at Despensa de la Paz food pantry and working with the homeless, I am a worship leader at Immanuel Church Brookfield.
I am avid motorcyclist and I love the outdoors. I own a Harley-Davidson Super Glide (shout out to Milwaukee) and take every opportunity to ride that I can get (yes, sometimes even in the snow… accidentally). I try to spend several weekends a year under the stars, and those trips work best on two wheels. Helping to serve the homeless community in Milwaukee is a significant part of my life, and I spend a fair amount of time outside of work doing that. I am also very involved with my church as a worship leader and staff member.
