I like to think of my job as a chance to change people’s lives. Whether it’s hiring a nurse to give excellent care to someone’s loved one or helping someone down on their luck get back on their feet. What a person does at work every day is such a big part of their life, and I want to try to find something they will enjoy. I love getting to know people and building relationships.
After graduating with my degree in Communications, I worked in marketing and social services for several area nursing homes. I was also a middle school special education teacher for several years. My background in healthcare led me to recruiting when I was contacted by a local company to see if I had any interest in nurse recruiting. I said sure and have not looked back. Recruiting has given me a chance to meet wonderful people, travel, and do one of my favorite things: talk.
I have had a chance to recruit in multiple different industries. This gives me a lot of flexibility as to what I do and allows me the ability to help out wherever needed. It also gives me the chance to always be learning new things.
I feel that I have been very lucky to have so much and try to give back whenever possible. I volunteer at the local Women’s Center, the Alzheimer’s Association, Blood Center of Wisconsin, Camp Heartland and several other organizations. I have taken part in several charity runs and different events throughout the year.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my friends, my two cats, and my family. I love to travel and try to visit my many out of state friends as much as possible. I am a huge fan of the Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. Miller Park is my favorite place to be in summer. I enjoy working out and am currently training for my ninth marathon. I try to say yes to trying new things and this has given me a chance to go sky diving, do the Polar Plunge, and many more things.
